Lord Vinayaka, the God of new beginnings…
Lord Vigneswara, the remover of obstacles – the “Vigna Hartha”…
Lord Ganesha, the Lord of all the Ganas..
It is this Lord of wisdom and enlightenment, that we bow down to; not just for materialistic purposes but also for spiritual upliftment.
At a yogic level, Ganesha can be depicted as the Lord of universal energy groups(the Ganas) – the supreme consciousness that brings harmony in the universe.The energy from which everything manifests and that energy into which everything dissolves is the Ganesha!
Vinayaka Chavithi, is a very auspicious day when Lord Ganesha was born…when the supreme consciousness had taken a form!
The Parama Gurus of the Kriya Yoga Tradition, Sri Sri Sri Bhoganath Siddhar and Sri Sri Sri Mahavatar Babaji chose this auspicious day to bestow upon mankind, a divine, magnificent and innovative Godly knowledge – this holy day marked the inception of Sushumna Kriya Yoga!
Indeed, the Vinayaka Chavithi day – 5th September 2005 marked a new beginning!
Just as every other day, Pujyasri Aathmanandamayi Mataji commenced her meditation practice at the divine Brahma Muhurtha time on this auspicious day! This day marked the beginning of a new phase in the lives of many spiritual aspirants!
Pujyasri Aathmanandamayi Mataji had an incredibly divine experience during meditation that day. Mataji never heard about or knew anything about the Siddha Guru, Sri Sri Sri Bhoganath Siddhar until that day. Her holiness Sri Aatmanandamayi Mataji had read about the Kriya Yoga as detailed in the BhagavadGita but had no insight into the workings of the Kriya Yoga techniques. The Parama Gurus had appeared in her meditation in their astral form. Having introduced themselves, they had then taken Mataji to Katirgama, Sri Lanka astrally and had initiated Mataji into this divine technique of Sushumna Kriya Yoga. The workings of the technique were also clearly elucidated visually with the help of a glass body, to Mataji. The Parama Gurus had then anointed Mataji to spread this divine knowledge to the rest of mankind!
And thus, on the auspicious day of Bhadrapada Shudha Chavithi – the 5th September, 2005 Sushumna Kriya Yoga was born! Since then Ammagaru has taken up this humongous task of uplifting mankind from the materialistic plane to the higher elevated path. Mataji has since been tirelessly working towards the spiritual upliftment of numerous waiting souls.
The two consorts of Lord Ganesha,the cosmic intelligence are Sidhi, the power of accomplishment and Budhi, the power of Intellect/knowledge.In an exactly similar way, Sushumna Kriya Yoga brings about a perfect balance between the Karma Sakthi, the action and Gnana Sakthi, the Intellect.
Thus, the birthday of Lord Ganesha being chosen as the day of inception of the divine technique, Sushumna Kriya Yoga is not a coincidence. Indeed! Vinayaka Chavithi is a very special day to be reflected and revered by all Sushumna Kriya Yogis!!!
